| Aran Sweater 2010-2011 SKU: 6012 Ever-popular Aran sweaters are eye candy. Those rich allover textures and cables invite touching. If you’ve wanted to make one, but hesitated, hesitate no more! With the guidance of two experienced knitting teachers, make an Aran sweater. This class is team taught by Jeannine Sims & Jeanne Hoffman. The class project is a sweater made from the bottom-up, and you will have your choice of raglan or modified drop-shoulders, pullover or cardigan. Choose your stitch patterns from swatches knit in the yarn to be used for the sweater. Since you must order the yarn for the class from Spirit Work in advance and you need to have it for the first class, don’t delay in signing up. Orders must be placed 3-4 weeks before the start of teh first class. A Supply List is provided upon registration. Class material will include measuring for fit, personalizing a schematic and directions, choosing stitch patterns, swatching, planning the stitch layout, construction and finishing techniques, identifying and correcting mistakes. Over the term of the class, students will get a comprehensive handout on the design and construction of a bottom-up Aran sweater with raglan or modified drop-shoulders, including a variety of stitch patterns so that another sweater can be made with all different stitch combinations. A note to students who have taken previous Aran classes: new yarn, new stitch pattern menu! Homework between classes.
